Listening Session Gives People a Chance to Speak Up

Listening Session Gives People a Chance to Speak UpAbout 100 people attended a Cooperative Conservation Listening Session August 29 at the Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City.

The listening session was hosted by David Tenny, deputy under secretary of agriculture for natural resources and environment, and Jim Gulliford, assistant administrator, Environmental Protection Agency. It is one of 24 nationwide to give citizens an opportunity to present ideas about incentives, partnership programs and regulations that could improve results and promote cooperative conservation and environmental partnerships. The meetings will help inform and guide senior federal officials in developing future policy proposals that build upon the success of cooperative conservation.

If you were unable to attend the session, you may submit comments in writing until September 30 to Beth Duff, U.S. Department of the Interior, 1849 C Street NW, MS5258, Washington, D.C., 20240. You may also fax comments to Duff at (202) 208-7574 or send them via email to Beth_Duff@ios.doi.gov.
